Lentils soaked overnight, gonna leave it by the windowsill for some light. They taste like they’re supposed to after they sprout, which about 5% of them are already doing. Sprouting also removes the purines from the lentils that cause gastrointestinal upset. (I have an embarrassing story to tell about eating improperly prepared lentils… smelling like a dirty diaper π )
The spices and herbs get soaked into it better like a sponge; I use rosemary, sage & thyme as staples along with sea salt and cumin for that ‘earthy’ taste. it’s gonna be lit π₯
Tasty stuff! I need to buy some lentils…it’s been ages since I’ve had lentil soup!
Hope that your weekend is going well!

Is that supposed to be a smiley face or an alien? π

It was supposed to be a smiley face, but the lentils make it look like some green lad with mumps. π₯

I think it looks like a green Martian. Reminded me of the TV show, My Favorite Martian. Way before your time. π

Even has its own Wikipedia page. Although, I guess that’s not saying much. π

π love the lentil boy. Think my hubby would pass out if I gave him lentils, he’s not known for his appreciation of healthy food π

ahaha! I know some avoid it because of the nitrogen bombs π but has he tried lentil soup? hard to dislike even among the most bloodthirsty, i think! π
